Explore the ruins Ponagar Tower - Nha Trang

Ponagar Relic Tower, Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa is one of the architectural complex of the Champa culture scale to the largest remaining in central Vietnam, was built around the 8th century to the 13th century, the period of Hinduism (Hinduism) was in prosperous ancient Cham kingdom.

Tower Ponagar temple is situated atop a small hill about 50 meters high over the sea level. At The estuary, the Nha Trang city center about 2 km to the north.

The overall architecture consists of 3 floors Ponagar, going from bottom to top. On the lower floors, with the ground level gate tower, which now no longer exists. From there take the stone steps leading up to the mesosphere. 
In the middle tier called Mandapa (ie guest house, retreat house) for pilgrims resting, prepare the offering. Mandapa 20m long, 15m wide, consisting of 4 octagonal columns (including 10 large columns and 12 small columns). On the body of the mortise large columns, carved deep into the shaft, horizontal symmetry with the top of the small column.

The top floor is where the tower is located. The tower was built according to the type of care, very tight circuit building blocks, not seen binder. The main stupa here before quite large and about 23 meters high, the tower Ponagar. 
The tower has 4 floors, each floor has a door, animal statues and stone formation. Inside the Statue (2.6 m high) carved in black granite (previously incense, and so far as gold) sitting on the grave stone pedestal shaped lotus, leaning back stone large bodhi leaf.This is a masterpiece of Cham Sculpture, is a combination of technical harmonization and embossed circular object.

From day 21 to March 23 in the lunar time Thap Ba festival with various activities, in order to introduce diversity, honoring the beauty of the Cham culture and is ranked as one of 16 national festivals.
